WILMINGTON, IL — A 29-year-old man who lives in Wilmington is now adjusting to his new surroundings at the Will County Jail following his arrest Monday night in connection with allegations of child luring. The Will County Sheriff's Office arrested Nicholas Cox, who lives in the 600 block of South Water Street, after sheriff's deputies were dispatched to Lakewood Drive in Wilmington for a suspicious vehicle around 8:20 p.m.

"Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the mother of a female juvenile who stated that prior to her 911 call her daughter and the neighbor's juvenile daughter were outside on the driveway riding bikes," authorities said. "The woman and her husband were inside the house watching the girls from the front window when they saw a dark colored Sedan parked alongside the road."

Although the vehicle sped off, one of the parents remembered the license plate.

"After the incident, the neighbor's daughter provided information to the woman and then to her parents regarding the man taking off his seatbelt and showing the girl sexually inappropriate photos on his phone," police said.

Sheriff's deputies said they tracked down the vehicle at the Wilmington home of Nicholas Cox. He appeared in bond court Tuesday and received a $40,000 bail.
