Clark also told Joliet Patch on Wednesday that Brown was the only suspect being sought in connection with Tuesday's shooting that happened around 3:40 p.m. in the 1200 block of Cedarwood Drive.

Clark said officers got to the scene and located the victim, providing emergency First Aid. The boy was rushed by a Lockport Township Fire Protection District ambulance to St. Joe's hospital, where he's recovering.

"Brown fled on foot from responding officers and was taken into custody using a less lethal force option," Clark noted in a follow-up press release he issued Wednesday.

“The officers did a great job in responding quickly, relaying information and locating the suspect in this case," Clark stated. "They did a great job."

As for Brown, he lives in the 1400 block of Joliet's Cambria Drive, which is on the city's far west side near Theodore Street.
