Update: Shooting On Raynor Avenue; Police Seek Video Footage

The city of Joliet's latest shooting occurred on Sunday night in the 400 block of South Raynor Avenue.

JOLIET, IL — A 28-year-old Joliet gunshot victim suffered life-threatening injuries Sunday and he was airlifted from AMITA Health to the Loyola Medical Center after being shot in the head around 7 p.m. in the 400 block of South Raynor Avenue.

Joliet Fire Chief Greg Blaskey said the gunshot victim was unresponsive when paramedics arrived at the call.

Joliet Police Sgt. Dwayne English issued a news release on Monday afternoon indicating that Sunday's shooting occurred at 6:51 p.m.

The victim was inside a vehicle parked in a residential driveway and someone fired up the vehicle, wounding the victim, Joliet police said.

The victim’s vehicle and a nearby residence were also struck by gunfire. No other injuries were reported from the shooting, English said.
