Shorewood Drug Dealer Faces 4 Charges: Complaint

SHOREWOOD, IL - A 21-year-old Shorewood man has retained the services of Joliet criminal defense lawyer Steven Haney after his arrest last week on criminal charges accusing him of possessing and dealing marijuana, possessing cocaine and possessing Ecstasy.

Steven Sceniak, of the 600 block of Edgebrook Drive, was busted by the Will County Cooperative Police Assistance unit late last month, court records show. Sceniak is accused of dealing a substantial amount of marijuana last October.

The charges filed in the case are:

Count one: Unlawful possession of cannabis with intent to deliver. Sceniak "knowingly and unlawfully possessed with intent to deliver more than 500 grams but less than 2,000 grams of any substance containing cannabis," the criminal complaint outlines.

Count two charges the young Shorewood man with unlawful possession of cannabis.

The third charge, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, states that Sceniak "possessed a substance containing cocaine," back on Oct. 29, 2018.

The fourth charge is unlawful possession of MDMA, which is commonly known as Ecstasy.

Sceniak was booked into the Will County Jail on June 27, and his bail was initially set at $100,000.

The Shorewood defendant has retained the services of Joliet criminal defense lawyer Steven Haney, court files show.

Haney asked the court to lower his client's bail, and the court agreed to do so.

Bail was lowered from $100,000 to $25,000. Sceniak has come up with the necessary 10 percent to post as bond in order to get out of jail.
