Shorewood Lions Club Names Troy 30-C Students Of The Month

The Troy Community School District 30-C school board recognized the Shorewood Lions Club 2020 September and October Students of the Month at the district’s November school board meeting.

The William B. Orenic Intermediate School September Students of the Month are 6th graders Natalee Blenck, Leah Blunk, Kiley Gregory and Adam Hussein.

The W.B.O. October Students of the Month are 6th graders Edward Fabrizio, Layla McKinney, Ronak Verma and Tabitha Witthouse.

The Troy Middle School 7th grade September Students of the Month are Harmony Amegashie, Halle Berk, Sarah Hiller and Gracie Mitchell. T.M.S. 8th grade September Students of the Month are Ricky Betancourt, Addison Fowler-Favale, Leah Nordquist and Carson Weber.

Troy Middle School 7th grade October Students of the Month are Malorie Berry, John Ferak, Morgan Konieczny and Niko Martinez. T.M.S. 8th grade October Students of the Month are Jessica Cole, Evan Motley, Gabriel Orth and Isabelle Valadez.

Students were selected on the basis of consistent effort, productive citizenship, positive attitude and participation in class.

In addition to receiving certificates as Students of the Month, the students received $10 Amazon gift cards from the Shorewood Lions Club.

The Shorewood Lions Club helps needy persons in Troy Township who have sight or hearing problem get glasses, hearing aids and other related equipment, including seeing eye dogs. They also help sight- or hearing-impaired children sign up for Camp Lions in the summer.

The club meets at at Matty’s Grill and Pancake House, 995 Brook Forest Avenue in Shorewood, on the second Saturday of each month at 9 a.m. Visitors are welcome. Check the club’s Facebook page for meeting change notifications.
