Shorewood Principal Abruptly Resigns
The departure of Shorewood's elementary principal was announced Monday evening.
SHOREWOOD, IL - On Monday evening, school administrator Colleen Connolly issued a statement notifying parents of Troy-Shorewood Elementary students that she is no longer the principal at the district's oldest elementary school.
"I know this will come as a shock to many of you, but tonight I resigned as principal of Troy Shorewood Elementary. The three years I have spent serving you, your students and the community have been the most rewarding of my life," Connelly's statement explained.
"I am proud of the work I've done but I had to make a difficult, personal choice to leave Troy," her statement read.

On Tuesday morning, Joliet Patch left a voicemail message with Troy Schools Superintendent Todd Koehl seeking his comments regarding the abrupt departure of one of his building principals.
Connolly's departure comes at an unusual time because students in the Troy School District are still in class this week.

"Please know Troy Shorewood Elementary will hold a special place in my heart forever," Connolly's statement to parents explained.
