Shorewood's Little Saigon Offering Vietnamese Option to Local Residents

SHOREWOOD, IL — Burgers. Pizza. Chinese. It’s always the same options when you’re looking to eat out. Why not try something different at Little Saigon in Shorewood?
Specializing in Vietnamese cuisine, Little Saigon offers upscale dining to those looking for a casual night out.
General Manager Jessica Engelhard said the restaurant opened up in March 2016 and is just about to hit its six-month anniversary.

“Right now we’re No. 1 on Yelp and TripAdvisor,” Engelhard said. “We’ve been getting really great feedback.”
There’s definitely not a lack of restaurants in the area, so what makes Little Saigon special is its dedication to service and ability to cater to everyone.

“We want them to feel welcome and try new things,” she said. “The food is also fantastic.”
One of the more popular dishes is the Cha Gio, which is a fried spring roll. Engelhard said they make around 30 to 40 orders of those a day.
The recipes are from the owner’s mother, Engelhard said, who’s in the kitchen with him every day.
“Everything is fresh. Everything is made here in the kitchen. We don’t have anything frozen.”
