Shots Fired On Morgan Street, Joliet Police Make 2 Arrests
Around 3:35 a.m. Joliet officers on overnight patrol heard gunshots coming from the area of Comstock and Morgan Streets.

JOLIET, IL — While most of Joliet was sound asleep, someone was shooting a gun in the St. Pat's Neighborhood Area early Sunday morning. A Joliet police officer on regular patrol heard the gunshots coming from the 500 block of Morgan Street and subsequently arrested two men from Joliet.
Donzel Williamson, 27, is now in the Will County Jail. He's been charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, unlawful use of a weapon, having no FOID, unlawful possession of ammunition, obstructing a peace officer and violating parole. A second person, Kyle Smith, 29, was booked into county detention on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, having no FOID and unlawful possession of ammunition.
Around 3:35 a.m. Sunday, Joliet police heard gunshots near Comstock Street and Morgan Street. Nearby, police saw people inside a car parked on the street in the 500 block of Morgan.

Officers saw a live ammunition round in the back seat of the vehicle and a gun on the rear floorboard, police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
Smith was taken into custody without any problems, while Williamson refused to get out, so officers yanked him out of the vehicle and put him into handcuffs.

Officers recovered the ammunition and a loaded 9 mm handgun from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed, English noted.
Smith lives in the 500 block of Morgan Street while Williamson lives in the Plainfield area, in the 1500 block of Green Trails Drive.
