Car Hits Skateboard Rider In Joliet Near Plainfield

The boy's injuries are not life-threatening, Joliet police officials announced on Monday.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department announced that the teenage boy who was hit by a car in recent days is recovering from his injuries.

The incident happened around 8 p.m. Friday.

Joliet police responded to a report of a traffic crash at Caton Farm Road and Fresno Lane involving a pedestrian. The preliminary crash investigation determined that the 15-year-old boy was crossing Caton Farm Road at Fresno Lane headed northbound on a skateboard when he was struck by a westbound Honda Pilot driven by a 42-year-old woman from Plainfield, according to Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English.

He said the 15-year-old was taken to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries to his body.
