Slammer Makes The Big Time, Signs With Colorado Rockies

The Plainfield native and Providence graduate was in his first season with the Slammers.

JOLIET, IL — Slammers catcher Sam Tidaback signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies organization, the Joliet team announced.

Tidaback, 23, was drafted by the Cubs in the 21st round of last year's June amateur draft. A Plainfield native and Providence High school graduate, Tidaback played A ball for the Cubs organization but was released in April.

Tidaback played college ball for the University of North Georgia.
