Souped-Up Cars Cut Loose at Route 66 Raceway TnT
Route 66 Raceway allows regular Joe's to test everything from dragsters to street vehicles (and even a tractor) on its track during its Test & Tune events.
Patch reader Greg Rodil was at Route 66 Raceway's TnT event (Test and Tune) Friday and submitted these fantastic photos. You don't need to know much of cars or auto racing to enjoy looking at these souped-up cars.
What is Test & Tune? Here's how the raceway describes it on its Web site:
"A Test & Tune is your opportunity to safely see how fast you can race down the dragstrip. Whether you're a first-time driver in your street legal vehicle or a seasoned veteran getting your dragster dialed-in for serious competition - a Test & Tune is fun for racers of all experience levels."
The raceway is holding 15 TnT events this year in recognition of its 15th anniversary. Four dates remain: Aug. 23, Sept. 6, 20 and 27. It costs $15 to watch and $25 to participate. For more information, click here.
