JOLIET, IL — A criminal complaint was filed last week against a 41-year-old Joliet man who was frequenting The Star Inn on West Jefferson Street when he was not supposed to be here. Levern Quincy Morgan, who lives in the 400 block of North Bluff Street apartment units, has been charged with criminal trespass to real property.

Last week's criminal complaint indicates that the incident happened on Dec. 4. Morgan, prosecutors say, "knowingly entered upon the land of another, Star Inn, at or near 2219 1/2 West Jefferson Street, Joliet ... after receiving prior to such entry, notice from the Star Inn, that such entry is forbidden," court documents state.

Morgan has been in the Will County Jail each of the past three years. Last year, he was incarcerated between January and late April after Joliet Police arrested him on three separate charges of domestic battery and multiple counts of driving on a suspended or revoked driver's license.

Court records indicate that Morgan's domestic battery charges were ultimately dismissed after Will County prosecutors notified the judge that they no longer had a complaining witness.

Last week, Morgan appeared in court with a public defender and pleaded not guilty to his criminal trespassing charge.
