State Police: Joliet Child Pornographer Arrested

JOLIET, IL - The Illinois State Police issued a press release on Thursday announcing that a 46-year-old Joliet resident Samuel Prado was taken into custody on charges of possessing child pornography.

Police said that the investigation involved a number of agencies including the Illinois Attorney General's Office and the Homeland Security Office. The arrest of Prado resulted from a cyber tip, state police said.

On Thursday, "Investigators executed a search warrant on Samuel Prado’s residence in Joliet, IL. A preliminary search of a laptop computer in the home revealed multiple images and videos containing child pornography," police announced.

Prado is now being held at the Will County Jail and more charges are pending the result of a complete forensic analysis of his electronic devices, authorities said.

Will County's Jail lists Prado's residence as being the 200 block of Willow Avenue. He was booked into the jail around 11:20 a.m.
