Steak 'n Shake Closes Joliet Restaurant; Will It Be Forever?
A sharp-eyed Joliet Patch reader noticed the closing and brought it to our attention.
JOLIET, IL — Joliet's Steak 'n Shake on South Larkin Avenue isn't serving hamburgers, fries and milkshakes this week. The place has closed.
A loyal Joliet Patch reader brought this week's development to our attention. And, sure enough, a sign on the empty restaurant's front door urged hungry customers on Wednesday to visit one of the other Steak 'n Shakes in the area. The sign also gives people the impression that perhaps somebody will come forward and acquire the property to make it a local franchise.
However, Patch noticed that the drive-thru menu for the Steak 'n Shake on Larkin Avenue was completely barren.

On the plus side, there is still a Steak 'n Shake near the Louis Joliet Mall off Plainfield Road near the Target.
