Stolen Gun Recovered By Joliet Police During Traffic Stop: Cops
Around 2:20 a.m., Joliet police pulled over Frederick Caldwell's Chevrolet Malibu near Collins and Jackson streets.

JOLIET, IL — While most Joliet residents were asleep, Joliet's overnight shift police officers arrested a 40-year-old resident who had a stolen, loaded gun, according to police reports.
Frederick Caldwell, of the 100 block of Anderson Avenue, got booked into the Will County Jail around 5:50 a.m. on Tuesday. Caldwell is charged with unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a stolen gun.
Around 2:20 a.m., Joliet police pulled over Caldwell's Chevrolet Malibu near Collins and Jackson streets for speeding and disobeying a traffic light, police noted.

"Upon search of Caldwell’s vehicle, officers recovered a loaded .22 caliber handgun. Further inspection of the handgun determined that it had previously been reported stolen," police spokesman Dwayne English said.
He said Caldwell was placed into custody and his car was towed away. Caldwell was also cited for speeding and disobeying a traffic control device.
