Styx hit its stride with guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw’s first LP with the band, 1976’s Crystal Ball, and then they become the first group to score four triple- platinum albums in a row: The Grand Illusion (1977), Pieces of Eight (1978), Cornerstone (1979), and Paradise Theater (1981). The band has 16 Top 40 songs, including “Renegade,” “Come Sail Away,” “Blue Collar Man,” and “Fooling Yourself.”
The Taste of Joliet celebrates its 11th year since Joliet Park District officials brought the fest back to the community in 2006. With over 25 food vendors, carnival, kids zone and live music, it’s grown to be a huge event. The Taste set a new single-day attendance record in 2015, with over 22,000 turning out on Saturday for a country lineup that included Parmalee and Big & Rich.

“It’s become a highlight of the summer,” said Director of Communications Brad Staab. “It’s an event that really brings the community together. We have a great staff and Board of Commissioners here at the Joliet Park District who come together every year to make it happen – but we couldn’t do it without the help of the Joliet Police Department, Joliet Fire Department, a ton of volunteers, and great corporate partners like Terry D’Arcy. It’s a lot of work, but it’s a lot of fun, too.”
Dates for the 2016 Taste of Joliet are June 24 – 26. Front Section tickets for Friday are $40, which includes admission to the festival and a reserved section directly in front of the stage. General admission tickets are $10 online and $15 day of show.
This ticket includes admission to the festival and first come, first served seating for the concert.
