Summer Concerts, Music Fests To See In Illinois In 2022

From small town shows to Lollapalooza and other festivals, Illinois summer concerts are back in a big way.

ACROSS ILLINOIS — Few things stir up the spirit of summer like the sounds of live music. Here's a roundup of the major concerts you can catch this summer throughout the Chicago area.

Chicago's Lollapalooza

Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole and Green Day are set to headline the four-day annual music festival when it returns to Grant Park in Chicago July 28-31. Doja Cat, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Baby, KYGO round out the top of the bill acts.

Concerts at Wrigley Field

Dead & Company are returning to play at Wrigley Field on June 24-25, which is a Friday and Saturday. Originally scheduled for Aug. 29, the Def Leppard & Mötley Crüe show has been rescheduled for Friday, July 8. Zac Brown Band will play at Wrigley Field on Saturday, July 9.

Chris Stapleton will perform at Wrigley Field on Saturday, July 23, with special guests The Highwomen, Mavis Staples and The Dirty Knobs with Mike Campbell. On Monday, Aug. 15, Lady Gaga will perform her concert at Wrigley Field.

On Sept 3, which is a Saturday, the Lumineers are set to perform at Wrigley Field as part of the BRIGHTSIDE World Tour 2022 with special guests Caamp and James Bay.

Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Tinley Park

Outdoor concerts begin in early June and last until the end of September. Here are some of the key concerts set for this summer in Tinley Park:

AJR on June 3, Styx and REO Speedwagon on June 4, The Chicks on June 15, Tears for Fears on June 16, Josh Groban on June 25, Santana with Earth, Wind and Fire on July 2, Halsey on July 3, Train on July 15, Rod Stewart on July 16, The Black Keys on July 17, Chicago and Brian Wilson on July 24, Backstreet Boys on July 29, Chris Brown on Aug. 4, Rob Zombie and Mudvayne on Aug. 5, Matchbox Twenty on Aug. 6.

The last part of the summer and fall schedule includes: Jason Aldean on Aug. 12, Incubus on Aug. 14, Kid Rock and Foreigner on Aug. 19, Alice in Chains and Breaking Benjamin on Aug. 24, Imagine Dragons on Aug. 26, Sammy Hagar on Aug. 27, Luke Bryan on Sept. 10 and Keith Urban on Sept. 24. Allstate Arena in Rosemont

New Kids on the Block are set to perform at Allstate on Friday, June 17 and Saturday, June 18. Shawn Mendes has a performance on July 15. Scorpions and Whitesnake have a concert on Sept. 1, which is a Thursday. Michael Buble performs on Friday, Sept. 2. To review all the events, visit the Allstate Arena website.

United Center

Chris Tomlin & Hillsong United will perform June 16, Rage Against the Machine and Run the Jewels perform July 11-12, Roger Waters on July 26, Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem on Aug. 19, Duran Duran on Aug. 20, Seventeen on Aug. 25, Eric Clapton on Sept. 12-13, Roxy Music on Sept. 19 and The Killers perform on Sept. 21.
