Suspected Cocaine Dealer On Joliet's South Side Arrested: JPD

Howard Cockrell's arrest followed a lengthy criminal investigation by the Joliet police, authorities announced. The defendant is 63.

JOLIET, IL — A 63-year-old man who lives on the Southside of Joliet in the 300 block of Des Plaines Street is now in the Will County Jail facing a $10,000 bail after Joliet police arrested him on charges of dealing cocaine.

Howard Cockrell was put in handcuffs and taken away from his house on Des Plaines during a police raid at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Cockrell's charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of controlled substances with intent to deliver.

Joliet police say the arrest of Cockrell happened after a long investigation by Joliet Police narcotics unit.

Upon search of the residence, officers recovered suspected cocaine, police noted.
