Suspected Dog Killer Faces 2 New Charges: Complaint
Pruitte has been in Will County's Jail since Nov. 30 for unrelated crimes.

JOLIET, IL - A Joliet resident who has been locked away from society at the Will County Jail now faces two more felony charges in connection with the fatal shooting of someone's dog back in late October. On Friday, the State's Attorney's Office filed two counts of aggravated cruel treatment of animals against Kendrick Pruitte, 39, of the 100 block of Linden Avenue.
Friday's criminal complaint submitted by Joliet's Police Department indicates that Pruitte, on Oct. 24, "committed an act that caused a companion animal, a male pitbull terrier to suffer serious injury, in that said defendant shot the pitbull terrier with a handgun."
The accompanying charge indicates that Pruitte "caused a companion animal, a male pitbull terrier to suffer death."

Between the new charges and the original charges filed at the time of Pruitte's arrest on Nov. 30, the Joliet man now faces 10 felonies at the Will County Courthouse.

His total bail has been set at $650,000.
