Teens in SUV Intentionally Crash into Car, Attack Plainfield Driver: Police
"Everybody inside the vehicle began hitting and beating her," police said.

PLAINFIELD, IL — An SUV full of teens intentionally crashed into an 18-year-old Plainfield woman’s car and attacked her Thursday night.
Angelica Hernandez, 19, of the 2500 block of Paradise in Plainfield, Bryan Ochoa, 18, of the 800 block of Caton Farm, Aliyah P. Mercado, 18, of the 2900 block of Ruth Fitzgerald and a 16-year-old juvenile were traveling in Hernandez’s RAV4 when they began chasing an 18-year-old Plainfield woman driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze, according to Joliet Deputy Police Chief Ed Gregory, who said that Ochoa had some “bad history” with the victim and was “out to get her.”

While the girl was being chased, she called her stepfather to tell him to open the garage door. Thinking that was strange, the stepfather went outside to see what was going on.

“He saw his stepdaughter fly by their house being chased by this RAV4,” Gregory said. The stepfather then jumped in his car and followed them.
At the intersection of Black Hill Ridge Drive and Blue Ridge Drive, the stepfather saw Hernandez ram her vehicle into the Chevy’s driver’s side door, stopping it, Gregory said.

Ochoa got out of the vehicle and grabbed the victim, who was also getting out of her Chevy, and pulled her into the RAV4, which then took off, Gregory said.
“Everybody inside the vehicle began hitting and beating her,” Gregory said, citing a statement made by the victim.
Hernandez then slowed down the vehicle in the 6300 block of Black Hill Drive and Ochoa pushed the victim out of the vehicle while it was still moving, Gregory said.
Ochoa got out of the vehicle and was grabbed by the stepfather, who then subdued him. Officers had also arrived on scene at this time and arrested the other passengers.
Hernandez was charged with aggravated assault, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, mob action and battery. Ochoa was charged with battery, aggravated assault, mob action and unlawful restraint. Mercado and the 16-year-old juvenile were charged with mob action and battery
