SWAT Team In Joliet Captures Man After Gunshots Fired: Sheriff

This marks the third time 24-year-old Joliet resident Hunter Harvey has been put in the Will County Jail. His others were in 2021 and 2020.

JOLIET, IL — The Will County Sheriff's Office had to call out its SWAT team early Saturday morning to capture 24-year-old Joliet resident Hunter Harvey. He's now charged with aggravated discharge of a gun, aggravated assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

According to the sheriff's announcement on Facebook, at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, sheriff's deputies went to a gunshots call in the 1800 block of Hillcrest Road in Joliet. The agency said there was a fight inside the home before the gunshots were fired. Deputies located two people who were not hurt and they reported a man was firing gunshots from his porch.

These witnesses told the deputies the man was still inside the home along with other people and children. Will County established a perimeter and managed speak with Harvey. He and the other people inside the home and managed to come outside safely, the sheriff's agency noted.

"There were no injuries to any parties involved," sheriff's officials noted.
