Syl's Offers Mother's Day, Family Value Meals Amid Coronavirus

During the new coronavirus crisis, Syl's is offering a $20 dine-in courtesy card for anyone who spends at least $50 on curbside carryout.

ROCKDALE, IL — Since 1946, Syl's Chophouse has been regarded as one of the finest restaurants in the Chicago area. Amid the new coronavirus outbreak, Syl's cannot open its dining room for guests, but that isn't stopping Syl's from serving its longtime customers and establishing connections with new families across the Joliet area.

"We are humbled by the success of our sold-out carryout Easter feast and look forward to showcasing our carryout Mother’s Day meal," Charlie Ann Dwyer, sales and marketing director with Premier Events & Banquets Inc., told Joliet Patch on Tuesday.

"We have been so fortunate to help our customers celebrate their special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, retirements and date nights," she added.

"We have been lucky to be somewhat steady with our curbside pickup business from our loyal customers as well as capture some new diners with the support of local media groups such as Patch, Facebook and Chamber outreach," Dwyer wrote Joliet Patch on Tuesday. "It is utterly amazing to see the community join together in this uncertain time to support local family owned businesses."

Additionally, Syl's has created Family Value Meals to offer a variety of budget-conscious options for families in the community, Dwyer told Patch.

"You pick from five different meal options for a three-course meal that consist of salad, complete meal entrée that comes with dessert and bread and butter. Pricing starts at $25 for two dinners. As you increase the number of guests, the price per person decreases," she said.

Syl's Chophouse is in the tiny community of Rockdale, at 829 Moen Ave. Joliet Patch wrote about Syl's in September when Don and Maura Williams became the owners.

Syl's is open for curbside carryout or free delivery from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Orders are taken by phone at 815-725-1977. To review the entire menu for Syl's, including the five family meal specials, go here.
