Symphony Of Joliet At 127 Coronavirus Cases

At least four Joliet nursing care centers have reported five or more new coronavirus deaths since March.

JOLIET, IL — Symphony of Joliet on North Larkin Avenue continues to lead all of Will County's nursing care centers in deaths and illnesses from the new coronavirus. On Sunday, the Illinois Department of Public Health listed 127 coronavirus cases at Symphony of Joliet and 24 deaths.

According to Sunday's state data, at least 49 coronavirus deaths and 255 cases have been attributed to people who had been living at one of Joliet's nursing care facilities, Joliet Patch determined.

A week ago, the state's data listed Symphony of Joliet as reporting 26 deaths and 93 cases. The drop from 26 deaths to 24 deaths means that two of Symphony's deaths have been reclassified to something other than the coronavirus.

The number of coronavirus cases and deaths at Joliet's Presence Villa Franciscan on Springfield Avenue also marked a sharp increase during the past week.

On Sunday, state data showed Villa Franciscan as reporting 59 cases and 13 deaths. A week ago, Villa Franciscan reported 41 cases and eight deaths.

PARC of Joliet on North Hammes Avenue now reports 33 coronavirus cases and seven deaths. A week ago, PARC of Joliet reported 28 cases and four deaths.

Sunny Hill Nursing Home on Doris Avenue now reports 24 coronavirus cases and five deaths. A week ago, Sunny Hill reported 17 cases and two deaths.

Rock Run Place did not report any new coronavirus cases during the past week. Its number of cases remained at four.

Another Joliet nursing home that is reporting its first coronavirus cases is the Spring Creek Nursing Home on Draper Avenue in Joliet's Forest Park area. Spring Creek now reports three cases.

Salem Village Nursing Home on Rowell Avenue is also reporting its first two cases.

Meanwhile, Joliet Terrace on McDonough Street reported one new coronavirus case, bringing its total number to three.
