Tacos El Tio, 'The Best Tacos In Chicago' Expanding To Joliet
Joliet Bar and Restaurant Guide founder Brian Bessler notified Joliet Patch on Monday of the positive news for West Jefferson Street.
JOLIET, IL — Last week, Joliet Patch wrote about five prominent fast-food restaurant buildings that are sitting vacant. This week, one of them is coming back to life thanks to Tacos El Tio.
On Monday, a coming soon banner appeared on West Jefferson Street at the site of the former Beef Shack. The banner lets motorists know that Joliet is about to become the new home for Tacos El Tio No. 6.
About 30 years ago, the location at 1606 West Jefferson Street was in fact a Taco Bell restaurant.

"The best tacos in the City of Chicago," the Tacos El Tio website declares. "At Tacos el Tio we have 100% Mexican snacks with the authentic seasoning of Mexico City."
The website for Tacos El Tio proclaims "delicious tacos, pambazos, tortas and more."

According to the business page on Facebook, other Chicago area Tacos El Tio restaurants are on West Grand Avenue in Chicago, on West Belmont Avenue in Chicago, on West North Avenue in Villa Park, on Lake Street in Oak Park and on West Grand Avenue in Bensenville.
