Take A Migratory Bird Hike At Lake Renwick Preserve
Register now to search for migratory birds on Sept. 17. The hike will begin at the Plainfield Township offices parking lot on Lockport St.

Join the Forest Preserve District of Will County for a guided hike in search of the amazing birds that use Lake Renwick in Plainfield as a place to rest and refuel during fall migration.
The free Migratory Bird Hike is set for 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, at Lake Renwick Preserve. Registration is required by Thursday, Sept. 15; call 815-722-9470 or sign up online. The group will meet in the parking lot at the Plainfield Township offices on Lockport Street.
Joel Craig, a Will County Audubon member and Forest Preserve volunteer, will lead the hike to an area between Turtle Lake and Lily Cache Creek with a focus on migratory songbirds, including warblers, thrushes, and flycatchers as well as woodpeckers and raptors such as hawks, ospreys and bald eagles.

Please bring binoculars and dress for the weather. A few pairs of binoculars will be available for use.
Participants will hike up to 2 miles on natural surfaces across uneven terrain. The hike is for ages 7 or older.
