Tamales Korinna: Grand Opening Friday In Joliet
Tamales Korinna becomes the second restaurant open in the Ohio Street retail plaza. The other is Niko's Pizzeria.

JOLIET, IL — The wait for Korinna Hernandez's homemade tamales is over. At 9 a.m. Friday, Tamales Korinna opens for business at 30 Ohio St.
At 4 p.m., the new tamale restaurant on the northern edge of downtown Joliet will have a DJ and live music to celebrate the milestone.
The restaurant phone number is 815-714-2721. Tamales Korinna is located in the same business strip mall along Ohio Street as Niko's Pizzeria.

"It was a lot of effort to achieve this, which I am grateful for each one of you Facebook friends for always supporting my food," Korinna Hernandez announced on her Facebook page this week. "Dreams come to true. Glory be to God. People who are working hard, keep fighting. I wish God listens to them, with all my heart, just like mine."
Joliet Patch reported in October that Tamales Korinna will offer six kinds of tamales. There will be a couple of tamales in strawberry and pineapple flavors for kids.
