JOLIET, IL — Thousands of Joliet residents, too many to count, made it a point to visit Memorial Stadium Friday night for delicious food, their favorite alcoholic beverages —or lemonade shakeups —as they enjoyed the live music.

Joliet Park District director Brad Staab was ecstatic about Friday night's crowd as was Joliet's new Mayor Terry D'Arcy, whose business, D'Arcy Motors, was the main sponsor for Taste of Joliet. Staab is hoping to draw more than 50,000 to Taste of Joliet over the three-day weekend.

The band 7th Heaven was a huge crowd favorite, and they took center stage at 6:45 p.m. They were followed by a one-man performer, Thunderstorm Artis, who has appeared on The Voice.
