Tastee Bites Crash: No Citations Issued By Joliet Police
The Tastee Bites on West Jefferson Street remained closed Thursday after a woman drove her van into the Joliet restaurant Wednesday evening.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department said that no traffic citations were issued following Wednesday night's crash involving a van into the restaurant of Tastee Bites.
According to Thursday's Joliet police news release, officers were sent to the Tastee Bites, 2953 West Jefferson St., at 7:06 p.m.
The driver was a 54-year-old woman from Darien, police said.

She "had stepped on the accelerator pedal when entering her running minivan which caused the vehicle to jump the curb and collide into the front of Tastee Bites," Joliet police reports show. "The vehicle came to its final rest approximately 10 feet inside the store."
Joliet police officers determined the woman left her minivan in drive when she initially exited her vehicle. One customer inside Tastee Bites was struck in the leg by an unknown object as a result of the collision, police reports state.

Both the driver and customer refused medical attention. No citations were issued from the incident, authorities said.
