Minooka Teen On Dirt Bike Killed In Crash, Joliet Man Charged With DUI, Battery: Joliet Police
The man allegedly got out of his car and battered two other people on dirtbikes after the crash at Jefferson and Hickory streets.

JOLIET, IL — A Joliet man has been charged with aggravated DUI in a crash that killed a Minooka teen on a dirt bike Monday night, as well as battering another dirt bike rider after the crash, police said Tuesday.
On June 22, at 8:38 p.m., officers responded to West Jefferson Street and North Hickory Street for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.
According to police, a 17-year-old boy—identified by the Will County Coroner's Office Tuesday afternoon as Devin C. Davis, of Minooka— was piloting a Honda dirt bike eastbound on West Jefferson Street approaching North Hickory Street alongside two other dirt bikes. According to witnesses, Davis disregarded a red light and entered the intersection, where he was struck by a Chevrolet Impala driven by Maxie Robinson, 38, of Joliet.

Robinson was driving north on North Hickory Street, and police believe he had a green light at the time of the crash, police said.
Davis was ejected from the dirt bike in the crash.

After initial impact, the Chevrolet Impala also struck an unoccupied vehicle that was legally parked on North Hickory Street.
Davis sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Will County Coroner’s Office.
Police said that the two other people on dirt bikes stopped at the intersection before the crash.
Driver admitted to drinking: Cops
According to police, officers learned that after the crash, Robinson got out of the car and battered one of the other dirt bike riders, causing injury.
Police said officers saw signs of possible alcohol impairment while speaking with Robinson. According to officials, Robinson admitted to drinking alcohol before the crash and agreed to field sobriety testing. Following the tests, Robinson was taken into custody without incident.
Police also found open alcohol inside Robinson’s vehicle, according to a news release.
Robinson was charged with aggravated DUI, two counts of DUI, DUI – BAC 0.08 or more and two counts of aggravated battery. He was also cited for transportation of open alcohol by driver and failure to carry a driver’s license while operating a motor vehicle.
Robinson was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transported to the Will County Jail.
Dirt bike riders cited
The two additional male adult dirt bike operators were each cited at the scene for operating a non-highway vehicle on a roadway, and both dirt bikes were towed from the scene.
The roadway remained closed for several hours while members of the Joliet Police Department Traffic Unit reconstructed the crash scene.
