Terry D'Arcy For Mayor: Joliet Police Supervisors Unanimous In Support

One of Joliet's most well-known business owners, Terry D'Arcy, is running against incumbent Mayor Bob O'Dekirk on April 4.

JOLIET, IL — Prominent Joliet businessman Terry D'Arcy has picked up a key political endorsement in his bid to defeat two-term Joliet Mayor Bob O'Dekirk in the April 4 elections. The Joliet Police Supervisors Association has announced it wants D'Arcy, not O'Dekirk, to lead Joliet city government starting next spring.

Joliet Police Sgt. Matt Breen recently authored a letter to the "citizens of Joliet" informing everyone the Joliet Police Department Supervisors Association "is proud to announce our support and endorsement of Terry D'Arcy for mayor of Joliet.

"As supervisors, our membership understands the leadership qualities needed to forge relationships with the community while still providing quality law enforcement services. Our membership is comprised of leaders who are in the community making it a safe place to raise a family," Breen outlined in his letter, as president of the police supervisors. "We know firsthand the issues that are concerning to the citizens in regard to law enforcement."

Breen's letter also points out how "our membership voted unanimously to endorse Terry D'Arcy for mayor of Joliet."

The Illinois Sunshine database shows the D'Arcy for Joliet candidate committee has raised at least $150,460 since D'Arcy held a press conference on June 15 at D'Arcy Motors on Essington Road to announce his run for Joliet mayor.

According to his most recent press release posted on D'Arcy's campaign website, "if elected, D’Arcy said he would also strive to make Joliet a safe and healthy community to live, work in and raise our families. I don’t believe we have all the tools to keep our community as safe as possible."

According to the Illinois sunshine database, the Citizens for O'Dekirk campaign has $265,253 available for O'Dekirk's run for a third term as mayor.
