Thermostat Problem Leaves Victim Sprayed With Mace By Joliet Woman On Cass Street: Police

JOLIET, IL — A 22-year-old Joliet woman who lives on the east side of the community spent two days in the Will County jail after Joliet police arrested her on domestic battery charges.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 12:34 a.m. Feb. 17, officers responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of East Cass Street for a disturbance. He said that while in the apartment, a man approached Haley Hadamik, 22, to speak to her about changing the thermostat in the residence.

According to English, Hadamik then sprayed the man with pepper spray in the face without warning. Hadamik was present at the scene and was placed into custody without incident for one count of domestic battery.

She was processed at the Joliet Police Department and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. Jail logs indicate that Hadamik was let out of custody around dinner time on Feb. 18.
