Third Will County Resident Dies Of Coronavirus, Cases Rise To 77

27 new Will County confirmed cases of coronavirus are announced and a third local resident has died, according to heath department officials

JOLIET, IL – A third Will County resident has died from coronavirus and 27 more people from the county have tested positive since Wednesday, according to the Will County Health Department. Although the Illinois Department of Public Health did not initially identify the age and gender of those who died, local health department officials announced Thursday afternoon that the Will County resident is a woman in her 60s.

Of the 27 new cases – which takes the countywide total to 77 – 48 are female and 31 are males. Will County spokesman Steve Brandy said earlier this week that while trends are difficult to spot in coronavirus cases which have now been reported in 12 Will County communities, a large number of confirmed cases of late involve females.
