Trouble On Briggs Street, Joliet Man, 26, Arrested After Will County Sheriff's Deputies Respond To House

JOLIET, IL — One of the most common crimes investigated by the Will County Sheriff's Office regains allegations of domestic violence, especially in the Joliet area. This week, 26-year-old Caleb Dulen spent two days in the Will County Jail following his arrest at his house on South Briggs Street.

According to sheriff's agency spokeswoman Elizabeth Matthews, at 6:51 a.m. on Monday, the deputies were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of South Briggs Street in Joliet in reference to a disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies made contact with an adult female victim who said she and Caleb J. Dulen got into an argument which she said turned physical, Matthews revealed.

The victim told deputies Dulen grabbed her by the ribs, she showed deputies and they did see a fresh red bruise, Matthews added. She refused medical treatment.

Deputies also spoke with Dulen who said there was an argument and the adult female kicked him but said nothing further, the arrest report noted.

Deputies did not observe any injuries on his body.

Dulen was arrested on domestic battery charges and he was taken to the ADF.
