Upon responding to the parking lot disturbance, police say Veasy walked away from Eden's and into someone's yard and then ran into another homeowner's backyard in the 1000 block of Sherman Street.

At the time of Veasy's capture, police say they found a gun magazine with several live rounds nearby. However, the police could not find any guns. When police searched Veasy's body for weapons and drugs, cocaine was found, authorities said.

After the sun came up on Saturday, Joliet police returned to the area with a K9.
This time, Veasy's gun was discovered, minus the magazine that was already seized by police the night before, Veasy's arrest reports showed.
"The handgun matched the ammunition that was recovered during the incident," Joliet police spokesman Dwayne English announced.
Veasy posted 10 percent of his $50,000 bail about 12 hours after his arrest. Veasy lives in the Sugar Creek-Preston Heights area, in the 1600 block of Middletree Road.
