Trouble At Thorntons Gas Station On Collins Street: Joliet Police Make Another Arrest

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department's overnight officers made an arrest in recent days at the Thorntons gas station along Collins Street, on the city's east side.

The incident resulted in the arrest of 31-year-old Eduardo Davila of Joliet.

According to police spokesman Dwayne English, at 4:33 a.m. on July 19, the officers responded to Thorntons Gas Station at 400 Collins Street following a report of an unwanted person refusing to leave the property.

Joliet police contacted Davila in the parking lot near the front entrance and instructed him multiple times to leave the property. Davila allegedly refused each lawful request and remained on the premises, English pointed out.

After continuing to refuse officers' commands, Davila was taken into custody without incident.

During the investigation, officers determined that Davila had an active Will County warrant for failure to appear in court on previous criminal trespass charges. Davila was charged with criminal trespass and obstructing a peace officer. He was processed at the Joliet Police Department and issued a Notice to Appear for the new charges before being transported to the Will County Adult Detention Facility on the outstanding warrant.

Davila comes from the 600 block of Joliet's Algonquin Street, which is in the Forest Park area of the city. He also spent time in the Will County Jail on two different occasions last year.
