“We are so proud of these students,” Goetz said. “This is the result of years of hard work and practice.”
The All-Illinois Junior Band was founded to create a premier musical experience for the state’s finest middle school band students. Its goals are to provide an opportunity for the students to perform musical literature with a mature ensemble and distinguished conductor and to inspire them to continue their musical studies.
The students in the All-Illinois Junior Band will perform together on January 24 and 25, 2020, at the University of Illinois Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. The guest conductor will be Robert Tyrome Herrings, III, teacher at Artie L. Henry Middle School in Cedar Park, Texas. Herrings is an active music clinician and adjudicator and member of Phi Beta Mu.
