According to T.M.S. ELA teacher Toni Nissley, her students developed five haiku poems each over the course of a month, helping each other develop language and imagery by reflecting on the pieces.

“This is a wonderful accomplishment for our young writers,” Nissley said. “We were ecstatic that 21 of our students were selected for this year’s publication. I am so proud of these students who persevered and truly wrote from their heart.”
