Uncle Thrusts Knife Into Nephew: Sheriff

The two relatives live at the same residence in Joliet Township, sheriff's officials told Patch.

JOLIET, IL - Anthony Allen Rose, a 52-year-old Joliet Township resident, remains locked away from society almost a week after he got into a heated confrontation and stabbed one of his relatives, according to Will County Sheriff's officials. Rose pulled out a knife and stabbed his 27-year-old nephew in his arm, the side of his neck, the young man's chest and abdomen, sheriff's officials told Joliet Patch Thursday.

The crime happened last Friday, May 25, according to police. It began with some screaming between the uncle as the nephew told Rose to leave the residence, but instead Rose pulled out the knife; according to police. The nephew tried to defend himself with a three-foot-long broomstick, but he wound up getting stabbed multiple times during the confrontation, police say.

The two men lived together in the 600 block of Miami Street in Joliet Township, which is why the Will County Sheriff's Department, not Joliet Police, responded to the 911 call made by the stab victim.
