Man Shot In Groin Inside Joliet Public Library Bathroom
Joliet police say the shooting victim walked from the library all the way to the 600 block of Hickory Street on the city's west side.

JOLIET, IL — The Joliet Police Department is now investigating one of its most mysterious shootings so far this year. A 33-year-old man who suffered a gunshot wound to his groin on Thursday afternoon walked all the way from the downtown Joliet Public Library to the 600 block of North Hickory Street, where the shooting was reported around 5 p.m.
The gunshot victim was taken by Joliet Fire Department ambulance to Ascension St Joseph Medical Center by the Joliet Fire Department with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is believed that the victim sustained the gunshot wound while in the first-floor bathroom of the Joliet Public Library, 150 North Ottawa Street, and then he walked to the Hickory Street residence.
"This is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public," English announced. "As of right now, detectives continue to investigate all aspects of this case including if a suspect is responsible for the shooting or if it was self-inflicted."
