Volunteers Needed For Pelican Watch On Sept. 23 At Four Rivers
The Forest Preserve District is seeking volunteers who can lend a hand at the annual Pelican Watch at Four Rivers in Channahon.

If you've been wanting to get your feet wet as a volunteer for the Forest Preserve District of Will County, consider signing up for the annual Pelican Watch.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23, at Four Rivers Environmental Education Center in Channahon.
Volunteers are being sought who can assist with family activities around the preserve, said Jerome Gabriel, the Forest Preserve District’s facility supervisor at Four Rivers.
“This includes assisting with the s’mores station, wetland activities stations and the sibling rivalry station,” he explained.

Volunteers also are needed to help indoors by staffing the exhibit hall and the craft spaces. Finally, the event could use more volunteers to help with seating and directing the flow of people during the pelican presentations.
Pelican Watch volunteers will help out from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., so they should bring a lunch and a beverage, said Emily Kenny, supervisor of Volunteer Services for the Forest Preserve District.
