“I just want you to know you’re the most amazing man I’ve ever met,” Ryan Farrell read from a card on the present. “You raised me my whole life, from putting my hair in tight Princess Leia buns, forging my signature like in fifth grade, jamming out to alternative music, going to Warp Tour and even our first rock concert together, leading up to us laughing at cats wearing leggings.”
Inside the present, underneath “Batman vs. Superman” pajamas and some candy, was the gift he’s wanted for a long time: adoption papers.
