MORRIS, IL — While the Morris Police Department is investigating Sunday's late-night stabbing outside The Pub in Morris as a possible self-defense incident, The Pub on Gore Road issued a statement on Monday afternoon insisting that nobody in the bar was overserved with alcoholic beverages.

The Pub announced on its business page Facebook that "we are deeply saddened by last night's incident. Our hearts go out to the parties involved and we pray that everyone makes a full recovery, physically and emotionally."

The Pub went on to state that, "In an attempt to squash rumors about overserving, we would like to add that the adult male mentioned in the (Morris police press) release was not served alcohol at our establishment. He did not attempt to order alcohol; he bought food for his girlfriend and shot pool," the Morris establishment revealed. "Our of respect for the parties involved and the ongoing investigation, we will not be sharing any further information. We will continue to remain vigilant in keeping patrons safe. We are all part of the same human race, when one person hurts, we all hurt. Let's prevent these tragedies from ever happening and be kind to one another."
