Will County Coroner Election: Voters Prefer Write-In Zohaib Khan

My name is Zohaib Khan and I'm running for Will County Coroner.

A Coroner is an elected law enforcement official elected by people through elections. It is unethical to appoint a Coroner by anyone other than people. Coroner identifies the deceased, determines the cause of death, and notifies the relatives. Coroner hires a medical doctor known as a Pathologist to perform medical autopsies. A “Nurse” or a “Funeral Embalmer” cannot perform medical aspects of the Coroner’s office.

My campaign is based on Trust, Integrity and Accountability which I will Rebuild, Restore and Reinforce.

I’ve lived in Will County for 10 years and reside in Plainfield, IL. This will be my first-time serving Will County.

My top priority would be to deliver justice and equality with compassion, respect and care for everyone that interacts with the Coroner’s office. Under my watch, there will be no more year-long delays of death investigations nor will I allow any digging or disturbing the graves of the deceased in order to change death certificates. I will build a new state-of-the-art morgue which will be a center of excellence for research and forensic capabilities.

Regarding opioid fatalities, I will work with law enforcement officials, first-responders and pharmacists to make sure they have access and trained in life-saving procedures of administering Narcan.

I'm different from my opponents in many ways.

Democratic candidate Laurie Summers cut the line 2 months before elections to become an Interim Coroner. It was an unethical move orchestrated by previous Coroner, Pat O’Neil, who fooled Will County voters by stepping down so he could elect Summers to the Coroner role.

Coroners do not elect Coroners. It’s the People that Elect Coroners through Elections.

By creating circumstances that favor their own candidate is quite selfish, unethical and narcissistic. It shows that Laurie Summers has no compassion and care for the people of Will County.

Then we have Republican candidate, James Piacentenni who has remained silent throughout the race. His muted demeanor is indicative of an extinction of the Coroner's office.

Now I step in as a Write-in Coroner candidate. For the first time ever in the history of Will County, people finally have a candidate that will square-off against the corrupt system and defeat it. I will deliver justice to the people, regardless of race, gender, origin, age, or faith, etc.
