As the owner of the entire multi-tenant storefront property at 27–37 E Cass St., I’m personally invested not only in the success of Jonny’s Bar, but also in the continued improvement and revitalization of the entire property. Jonny’s Bar will move away from the traditional dive-bar atmosphere and introduce a modern, welcoming space with a completely updated interior and exterior. We have a lot planned, including special happy hours, karaoke nights, live music, outdoor patio entertainment, special events, and more. My goal is to create a fun, modern destination that adds something new to Downtown Joliet—a place where people can come together, enjoy themselves, and always have something to look forward to.

The Will County Children's Advocacy Center was founded in 1995 by State's Attorney James Glasgow to partner with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) comprised of law enforcement, DCFS investigators, medical personnel, prosecutors, and Will County CAC forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists in response to reports of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, commercial exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, in Will County, IL. Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.

This isn't just a fundraiser — it's a baseball game for ALL ages!
We want our Troy Baseball family, friends, neighbors, and supporters to come together for an afternoon of baseball, fun, and most importantly, hope for Bob and Juan.
&nbsp;How to Play
Everyone who wants to take the field should register as a DUO:
&nbsp;One child, ages 5–17&nbsp;One adult, ages 18–99+&nbsp;$10 registration fee per duo
Whether you're a seasoned baseball player, a weekend warrior, or someone who just wants to have some fun with your child, we want you on the field!
You don't have to be the best player. You just have to be willing to step up to the plate for two dads who need our help.
Every inning brings us one step closer to hope.
And while we're gathering to play ball, we'll also be raising awareness about living kidney donation and how someone may be able to help give Bob or Juan a second chance at life.&nbsp;Let's Fill the Field

Introducing Jessica L. Weaver&nbsp; Sterk Family Law Group. P.C. has expanded their family of professionals with the addition of Law Clerk Jessica L. Weaver. Jessica L. Weaver is a Law Clerk at Sterk Family Law Group and supports the attorneys and legal team through legal research, case preparation, document review, and day-to-day case support. Jessica is currently working towards her Juris Doctor at DePaul University College of Law. Through her role at the firm, she is gaining hands-on experience while expanding her knowledge of family law and estate planning.&nbsp;Get to Know Jessica L. Weaver 
Why did you choose to work in Family Law?
Honestly, I started law school not really knowing what area of law I wanted to practice; I just knew I wanted to do something to help people. After I completed my third semester of law school, I had a small existential crisis because I still wasn&rsquo;t sure what area of law I wanted to go into after graduation. I decided to take two family law classes the following semester, and I realized that this was exactly what I had been looking for. Family law is a great way to help people at very significant points in their lives, and I look forward to learning more about how to provide support during these times.&nbsp;&nbsp;
How do you get away from stress and separate your work from your home life?
I&rsquo;m not always the best at this, but I try to be very intentional about having a &ldquo;hard stop&rdquo; time when I&rsquo;m studying or doing work. There have been times when I&rsquo;m hyper-focused on a task and am not looking at the time, and before I know it, it&rsquo;s 11 PM, and I need to be in bed. After the twentieth or so time of that happening, I decided to set an alarm to mark a &ldquo;hard stop&rdquo; time, and after that time, I am no longer allowed to be on my computer to do any more work. I still sometimes just keep going and ignore the alarm, but I&rsquo;ve definitely gotten better!
Who is your hero?
My sister is definitely my hero. She&rsquo;s seven years older than me and has been my biggest role model in life. She&rsquo;s a psychologist who has her own practice now, and seeing her work so hard to achieve her goals has been a huge inspiration.&nbsp;
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is from C.S. Lewis &ndash; &ldquo;There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.&rdquo;&nbsp;
What do you do in your spare time?
I recently learned how to crochet, so I love doing that while I&rsquo;m watching TV or YouTube videos. It&rsquo;s a good way to decompress and shut my brain off so I&rsquo;m not thinking about everything I need to get done. I also like to read any and all genres of fiction books!
What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving! There&rsquo;s great food, of course, but I also really enjoy that the theme of the holiday is &ldquo;giving thanks.&rdquo; It&rsquo;s nice to have the reminder to slow down and be thankful for all of the good things in your life.&nbsp;
If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I would definitely be a cat! They just get to laze around and nap or play all day, and that sounds like a great life!

Sterk Family Law Group. P.C. has expanded their family of professionals with the addition of Office Administrator Kelly M. McDermott.&nbsp;
Kelly M. McDermott is the Office Administrator at Sterk Family Law Group. Kelly works closely with their leadership team and staff to manage the daily operations of the firm and keep the office running smoothly. 
Her responsibilities include overseeing administrative processes, coordinating accounting and benefits matters, managing vendor relationships, assisting with compliance, and providing support to our team.
Kelly has more than 20 years of experience in office and operations management. Her background includes working with leadership teams, managing confidential information, coordinating financial and administrative processes, and keeping the many moving parts of a busy office organized. Kelly joined Sterk Family Law Group in 2026.

Attorney Cynthia L. Petersen has focused her legal career in family law and understands the importance of combining legal knowledge and skill with empathy for clients navigating difficult and emotional circumstances. 
At Sterk Family Law Group, P.C. she focuses on complex financial matters involving retirement assets, providing in-house legal guidance to help ensure the necessary documents accurately reflect and carry out the intended terms of the division. 
Cynthia earned her Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, serves as Treasurer of the Jo Daviess County Bar Association, serves as a board member at a local animal shelter, and has been a board member of her community&rsquo;s Chamber of Commerce.
