Will County Jail Roundup March 19-21

The authorities across Will County are taking very few new inmates into custody.

JOLIET, IL — Amid the new coronavirus outbreak, area police departments have been taking measures in hopes of greatly reducing Will County's jail population, which normally averages several hundred inmates per day. Over the past week, there have been very few new inmates being taken into custody, but there are still some.

Here's a rundown of some of the new detainees over the past few days across Will County.

Matthew Lisak, 23, South Arboretum Drive, Homer Glen, arrested by Will County Sheriff's Office on two charges of assault, three charges of aggravated assault against a peace officer, disorderly conduct and resistance to a officer.

Elizabeth Martinez, 34, 1200 block of Fairview Avenue apartment units, Joliet, arrested by Joliet Police on a domestic battery charge.

Alberto Vargas, 28, 2000 block of Capri Avenue, Joliet, arrested by Rockdale Police on a domestic battery charge.

Flowers McNeal, 31, Azalea Circle, Romeoville, arrested by Plainfield Police on charges of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

Kaleb Findlay, 20, West River Road, Wilmington, arrested by Braidwood Police on charges of leaving the scene, receiving/possessing a stolen vehicle and driving on a suspended license.

Erik Chandler, Jr., 23, 600 block of 2nd Avenue, Joliet, arrested by Plainfield Police on charges of forgery and theft.

Rodrigo Marin, 42, La Brecque Road, Plainfield, arrested by Illinois State Police on a no-bail hold stemming from nine criminal charges including aggravated DUI, leaving the scene and driving on a revoked or suspended license. Marin is the defendant accused of causing January's Interstate 55 crash with a box truck that ultimately killed an off-duty Berwyn Police officer. Charles Schauer, 33, was a passenger in a southbound car, driven by off-duty Joliet Police officer Erin Zilka. For more, read Patch's previous coverage on Marin's arrest.
