Former Fox 32 Reporter Hired As New Public Information Officer For Will County Sheriff's Office
A graduate of Columbia College Chicago with a bachelor of arts in journalism, Matthews is also an Emmy Award winner.

JOLIET, IL — Following the Nov. 3 death of Kevin "Kollins" Hedemark, the Will County Sheriff’s Office has announced that WFLD Fox 32 Chicago television reporter Elizabeth Matthews has been named as the agency's new Public Information Officer.
"Elizabeth joins our office after a distinguished 17-year career in strategic communications and broadcast journalism. Most recently, Elizabeth served as a news anchor, reporter, and digital host at WFLD Fox 32 Chicago," the Will County Sheriff's Office announced. "Throughout her time in television news, she covered major local and regional stories, built strong relationships with public safety agencies, and earned the trust of viewers through clear, accurate, and timely reporting."
At FOX 32, Matthews often led daily newscasts, executive produced weekend content, helped to launch a successful two-hour digital show and served as a trusted representative at community events, the news release said. She also built a strong digital presence with more than 14,000 followers, demonstrating expertise in digital and social media engagement, video production and emerging communication tools.

"In her new role, Matthews will serve as the primary liaison between the Sheriff’s Office, the media and the community. She will be responsible for sharing important public safety information, highlighting the work of our deputies and staff, and ensuring transparency in our communications," the Will County Sheriff's Office announced.
