$125K Price Drop: Will McBrody's Finally Sell?
Property investor Bill Aeschlimann had planned to call the place the Courtside Sports Bar and open in 2018. It never materialized.

JOLIET, IL — A lot of new restaurants are opening along Joliet's West Jefferson Street and Larkin Avenue, but in downtown Joliet, nobody has purchased the old McBrody's Bar & Grill. The building is directly across from the new 10-story Will County Courthouse, a hub of activity where thousands of people visit Monday through Friday.
In July 2020, Patch reported that Joliet property investor Bill Aeschlimann was trying to sell the old McBrody's Bar & Grill, which features 2,460 square feet of restaurant and bar space. There were no buyers at his original asking price of $599,000.
Then, just last month, McBrody's underwent a substantial price reduction.

"Great opportunity to own a 2,460 sf former restaurant/bar with a massive 21 (by) 82 outdoor patio in a rapidly growing commercial area with a huge daytime population," the real estate brochure for McBrody's states. "Prime location across the street from the new Will County Judicial Complex."
Originally, Aeschlimann had planned to turn McBrody's into the Courtside Sports Bar back in 2018, but he abandoned those dreams and opted to put the building up for sale in the summer of 2020.
McBrody's closed in the summer of 2014 and has remained empty ever since.
