William Duke Severely Injured Baby: Joliet Police
Joliet police have charged Duke with felony aggravated battery against a child.

JOLIET, IL - William T. Duke, a 23-year-old J0liet parent, finds himself in the Will County Adult Detention Facility in connection with allegations that he seriously harmed his 4-month-old baby. Joliet Police say that Duke, 400 block of Water Street, was arrested Tuesday on one felony charge of aggravated battery causing bodily harm to a child. On Tuesday morning, the child's mother brought their baby to the Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center because the baby would not stop crying. X-rays determined the child had suffered a broken right femur, police said.
A number of people who lived at the residence were questioned by police including Duke. Investigators determined that Duke had grabbed the child by a leg and pulled on the leg, using force. The baby has since been transferred to Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Forest for further medical treatment, Joliet police said. The Department of Children & Family Services has been notified of the incident by police as well.
Jail logs show that Duke was arrested last November by Joliet police on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
