Willie Akins Jr. Beat Up Pregnant Girlfriend And Her Mom: Cops
Joliet police were called to Cumberland Court on Thursday morning.

JOLIET, IL - Willie Akins Jr. faces three criminal charges of committing domestic battery after being arrested Thursday morning at his house in Cumberland Drive. Joliet police say the 21-year-old man, who lives in the 1900 block of Cumberland Drive, lost his temper and then he became violent. The incident unfolded around 9:40 a.m. That's when an argument erupted between Akins and his 24-year-old girlfriend, who is six months pregnant, police say. Akins slapped her in the face, and then he threw her off the bed, police said.
Eventually, the victim's mother, who was inside the home, tried to intervene. That's when Akins slapped the 44-year-old woman in the face, and he pushed her as well, police said. Akins also yanked the telephone cord out of the wall so neither woman could call for the Joliet police, authorities said.
But if Akins thought he was in the clear, he was wrong. It turns out that his girlfriend's mother wound up hitting the panic alarm button on the home security system. Joliet police responded to the house, and officers took Akins away in handcuffs.
