Wilmington's Double Fatal: Victims In 30s ID'd By Coroner
Wilmington's fire department transported four other persons from the scene to local hospitals.

WILMINGTON, IL — Tuesday night's double fatality along the southbound stretch of Interstate 55 near Wilmington ended the lives of 35-year-old Ronald Dube and 34-year-old Kelly Quinlan-Dube, both of Emington, according to Will County Coroner Laurie Summers. Emington is a tiny rural town of 120 people in Livingston County.
Summers posted on Facebook that the couple from Emington were involved in the crash on southbound Interstate 55 in Wilmington Township at mile marker 238.
Wilmington's Fire Department took four other people from the scene to local hospitals. The wreck happened before 10 p.m.

The Illinois State Police issued a press release on Wednesday morning indicating the following events led to the double fatality:
A black Ford F-150 was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 and a GMC Yukon was traveling southbound on Interstate 55 in the same area. The Ford truck collided head-on with the Yukon and the Yukon was then hit by a semi-trailer.

The Emington couple driving the Yukon were dead at the scene, and three of their juvenile passengers were rushed to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the truck who caused the head-on crash was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
The roadway was shut down until approximately 4:35 a.m. Wednesday.
"This is still an open and ongoing investigation," the Illinois State Police announced.
